About Lemon Pound Cake Strain
Lemon Pound Cake is sweet, earthy, and packed with citrus flavor. Heavyweight Seeds bred it from Lemon Skunk and a Cheese strain, which makes the resulting strain equally pungent with lemon flavor and musky with a flavor layer of skunky cheese. For mid-high THC levels and a strain that can help you feel hungry and stress-free, the Sativa-dominant (70/30) Lemon Pound Cake can be a great afternoon pick-me-up strain. Definitely don’t expect this cake to help you sleep.
The flavor of Lemon Pound Cake (also called Lemon Cheesecake and Lemon Cake) is sweet and spicy, packed with as much bright citrus flavor as herbal, woodsy spice. Beneath that flavor, users will notice the Cheese genetics in its musky undertones. The dominant terpenes Humulene, Myrcene, and Caryophyllene describe this mix perfectly. Humulene particularly brings notes of wood, spice, and earth to the flavorful fruit mix of the Lemon Skunk genetics. New users shouldn’t be worried, though – a pine-like aftertaste and mid-high THC average of around 20% makes the strain effective but enjoyably delicious even for newcomers.
Lemon Pound Cake’s effects are primarily energizing, providing a sense of happy euphoria. This makes it ideal for increasing energy and improving your appetite. Users take advantage of Lemon Pound Cake when they have housework or exercise to do. Being social, walking in nature or around the town, or just people-watching out in the world can be vastly improved with a snack of Lemon Pound Cake.
The strain’s medicinal effects range from relieving stress to helping your body release problematic muscle spasms. Headaches and depression don’t stand a chance against Lemon Cake either. Users compare a drag of this strain to a blast of cerebral energy similar to a high-caffeine energy drink. Users report feeling euphoric, motivated, and ready to go.
Expert Review
The description on the site says that this is mostly to small sized flowers where as the buds that I received are a fairly decent size roughly the diameter of a Toonie coin and all in all the bag is “quite nice per price”. Dense buds are crispy on the outside and dank towards the stalk. Healthy and bright multicoloured greens are mixed with very light purple leaves and deep orange hairs, everything being dank and stuck together firmly. The buds are frosted in a thick layer of bright golden to auburn trichomes that give the whole bag a glossy shine. Breaking nugs up and busting them through the grinder had my room filled with a very pungent aroma of sweet and sour citrus with a mix of pastry almost a vanilla scent to it. The flavour is a bit mild especially towards the end of a session as I found my palette would only really taste the carophyllene terpene (sweet) near the start and then the (bitter) humulene terpene tends to linger on the palette giving somewhat of an off aftertaste. I enjoyed the high especially during the day as it is definitely uplifting but I found the euphoria to be very short lived and it doesn’t produce a massive crash so it’s an easy all day smoke which when burned, comes off fairly clean producing a medium grey ash with a slight peppering.
